So it’s definitely not a great game, and the criticism is totally justified.
It’s so much more of an arcade game now, but my friend and I have still been enjoying it. They have a pretty great car and track list. And being more arcade-y means we can race a more aggressively and the little bumps and nudges don’t send you off into the barriers as easily.
There is a lot of carry over from Project Cars 2. Somethings are better, more things are worse in 3. Many cars are the same, many tracks are the same. The photo mode is different, but also worse, with less features and controls.
Did I say I like the car list a lot?
The electric cars are more fun than I expected.
So, I can’t really recommend the game, there’s just too many weird decisions on menus/settings/features. But If you’re not too critical of your gaming experience, and you just like pushing the limits of a (virtual) vehicle, it does check those boxes. Multiplayer with a friend is definitely more fun.

Have you played the newest version of The Grid? From the little I’ve seen of Project Cars 3 it looks a lot like that game with Project Cars 2 track list and car list.

I have not! I played the very first Grid long ago. I’ve read comparisons between these 2 games though so it’s not surprising you’re seeing similarities.
I liked the first Grid a bit as well, but for different reasons than the more simulator-y options.

So far on the newest one I’m at medium driving setting so it’s doesn’t feel like a simulator like project cars did. Not a great game but solid. I’m having some fun with the career mode and the car list. First game to have the IMSA DPi’s other than the ea mobile game.

Had great times playing the original GRID. Our gaming clan was quite good with this game overall.

I reviewed this for our podcast. While I liked PCARS3 in principal, I can understand why people feel betrayed by Slightly Mad Studios. It flew in the face of the fan base that helped get PCARS off the ground.
